Worked Up 2017 Contest Details

1. How to Enter

No purchase necessary. Contestants can receive entries for the online contest six ways: 1) completing the interactive interview; 2) watching videos and commercials on workedup.ca; 3) sharing their ‘incident report’; 4) sharing other content on workedup.ca; 5) sharing their story; and 6) viewing the ‘How to survive an interview' infographic.

Any attempts to tamper with the entry process and/or operation of the contest may constitute a violation of law and may result in disqualification from this contest and any future contests by SAFE Work Manitoba (SWM) and the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB).

2. Prizes

Prizes are divided into two categories based on the website portal used and roughly by age demographic – youth aged 15 to 24 and parents/employers (includes parents, supervisors, managers, teachers and other influencers). The contest period is between May 8 – June 9, 2017.

Primary prizes for youth aged 15 to 24: There are twenty (20) prizes of a $100 gift card of the winner’s choice. The $100 gift card options include: Best Buy, Staples, Costco, Apple Store, Advance, Cineplex, Ticketmaster, Wal-Mart, The Bay, Canadian Tire, Co-op, Winners, Sears, Polo Park Shopping Center, St. Vital Shopping Center, Kildonan Place. Final selection based on approval from SWM.

Primary prizes for the parent/employers: There are thirty (30) prizes of a $100 gift card of the winner’s choice. $100 gift card options include: Best Buy, Staples, Costco, Apple Store, Advance, Cineplex, Ticketmaster, Wal-Mart, The Bay, Canadian Tire, Co-op, Winners, Sears, Polo Park Shopping Center, St. Vital Shopping Center, Kildonan Place. Final selection based on approval from SWM.

3. Facebook Entry Requirements

An entry will be awarded to users who like or comment on an image.

4. Instagram Entry Requirements

An entry will be awarded to users who like and comment on images on the SAFE Work Manitoba account.

5. Selection of Winners

Each potential winner will be randomly selected among the entries and the name of each winning entry will be declared the potential winner.

The potential winners will be contacted by telephone at the number indicated on the entry form. If a potential winner is unable to be reached in that manner within one (1) week of the draw, another eligible entry will be drawn and the process will be repeated until the prize is awarded. Winning is subject to the selected participant successfully answering a skill testing question. Winners’ names will be posted on http://safemanitoba.com/workedup.

The winners will be randomly selected among the entries and the name of each winning entry will be declared the potential winner.

6. Chances of Winning

The chances of winning a prize will depend on the total number of eligible entries received before the draw deadlines in accordance with these rules. Entries will remain active from the time of submission until the end of the contest.

7. Contest Closing Date

The primary contest closing date is June 9, 2017 at or about 11:59 PM CST.

8. Contest Eligibility

Contestants must be 15 years of age or older and residents of Manitoba to participate in this contest. Employees of SWM, the WCB and their immediate families with whom they reside, and any employee of their respective agents, representatives, promotional agencies and assignees are not eligible to win this contest.

SWM and WCB reserve the right to lock out persons whose eligibility is in question.

9. No Substitutions by Winners

The prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution, and cannot be transferred. The prizes have no cash equivalent.

10. Decisions Final

All decisions made with respect to all aspects of this contest are final and not subject to challenge. These rules may be amended at any time without notice. SWM and WCB expressly reserve the right to take any steps they deem necessary in their absolute discretion, including the right to modify the contest and methods of entry, in order to ensure that the contest is conducted in a fair way for all contestants and for SWM and WCB.

11. No Liability

SWM, WCB and their employees, agents, representatives, promotional agencies and assignees shall not be responsible in any way for loss or damage arising from the use of, or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to, the prizes awarded in this contest or the entry by a contestant herein. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, SWM and WCB assume no responsibility or liability for any risk or dangers associated with the acceptance or use of the prizes awarded as part of this contest or any liability associated with online or electronic entries, and expressly disclaims liability from loss or damage to a contestant’s computer system regardless of how the issue has arisen (e.g., bugs, viruses, malicious software or technical failures in any way associated with or arising from, online or electronic entries).

12. Contest Entries

All entries become the property of SWM and WCB as partners in this SAFE Work initiative. All entries are subject to verification and may be declared invalid if they are suspected to have been forged, falsified or tampered with in any way.

13. Lost Entries

SWM and WCB are not responsible for any lost, misdirected or delayed entries.

14. Consent to Use

By entering the contest, entrants consent to the use and publication of their names and statements in connection with the contest or any subsequent promotions held by SWM and WCB, without payment or compensation other than the chance to win the prize awarded. SWM and WCB reserve the right to use the ideas and stories submitted in the contest to develop future SAFE Work public awareness and advertising campaigns.

15. Applicable Laws

This contest is subject to all applicable, federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations and any dispute relating hereto will be determined by a Manitoba court applying Manitoba law and the laws of Canada as applicable therein.

16. Substitutions

SWM and WCB reserve the right to make a prize substitution of equivalent value in the event of unavailability of the prize or any aspect thereof for reasons beyond the control of SWM and WCB. In the event of a prize substitution, the substitute prize must be accepted as awarded, and cannot be transferred.

17. Errors and Omissions Excepted

SWM and WCB are not responsible for printing, distribution or production errors and may, in their discretion, withdraw this contest if it is found to contain any such error, without liability to anyone whatsoever.

18. Personal Information

The personal information obtained from the contest entry form will not be used or disclosed by SWM and WCB for any purpose other than general contest administration and the purpose set forth in Section 12 above. SWM and WCB operate under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and will protect personal information with security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. SWM and WCB will securely delete or dispose of personal contact information within six (6) months of the close of the contest. Stories and submissions may be retained indefinitely without identifying contact information unless express consent is received from the entrants.
